Every Festival and every city needs a Fringe and in 2009 Auckland has one – Auckland Fringe 2009. A heady mix of in your face drama, off the wall dance, music, comedy, cabaret and outdoor adventures is expected when the unconventional unleash their finest creative genius early 2009 for the first ever Auckland Fringe Festival.
Auckland Fringe 2009 is a new venture supported by THE EDGE® and Auckland Festival and will be a platform for independent artists to present their work in their own way; and for audiences to engage in a variety of eclectic arts experiences.
Kicking off one week before Auckland Festival 2009, the Auckland Fringe programme will run from February 27 to March 22, 2009. Centred in the heart of the Auckland CBD, The Basement will become the hub of the Auckland Fringe with a full programme on offer including major opening and closing festival events infecting this popular performing arts venue with fringe fever.
THE EDGE® and Auckland Festival Trust have committed to establishing the infrastructure for the first Auckland Fringe, with the aim of a separate Auckland Fringe entity to manage the festival in the future.

Auckland Fringe patrons must be aware that additional costs will be incurred if tickets are couriered. All sales are final and there are no refunds or exchanges, except as required by law.
